Od 1979. godine bio je zaposlen je u Savezu udruženja likovnih umetnika Vojvodine kao organizacioni sekretar.

2003 - 2004.  je direktor ugledne pokrainske Galerije likovne umetnosti - Poklon zbirka Rajka Mamuzića.

Na Akademiji umetnosti u Novom Sadu radi od 2004. godine u zvanju redovnog profesora na predmetu Vajanje sa tehnologijom.

Penzioner.

Boravio je u više zemalja Evrope gde na studijskim putovanjima upoznaje kulturno nasleđe i savremeno likovno stvaralaštvo; Italije, Velike Britanije, Španije, Francuske, Nemačke, Mađarske... Kao dobitnik Stipendije Moše Pijade boravi u Grčkoj – Atini.

Tokom svog dugogodišnjnjeg umetničkog rada prisutan je kao učesnik na mnogim značajnim likovnim manifestacijama, žiriranim i revijalnim, u zemlji i inostranstvu o čemu govori broj njegovih izložbi, samostalnih i kolektivnih. Uspešno učestvuje na javnim konkursima za spomeničku skulpturu i realizuje više spomenika u bronzi, većih dimenzija, na prostoru naše zemlje i bivše Jugoslavije. Uradio je više bista javnih i kulturnih ličnosti.(izložbe)
Dobitnik je značajnih nagrada.(Nagrade) Predstavnik je svoje zemlje na nekoliko velikih likovnih iizložbi i medjunarodnih bijenala, kao što je Venecijansko bijenale, bijenale Peštanske izložbe skulpture malog formata...(Izložbe)

Poslednjih nekoliko godina deo svoje umetničke aktivnosti uporedo sa skulptorskom, usmerava i na  umetničku fotografiju i video projekte. Bavi se prostornim modelovanjem  u kompjuterskim 3D programima. Aktivnost i kontinuirani rad u kulturnom i likovnom životu domaće i inostrane likovne scene je vidljiv i iz broja napisa, prikaza, kritika i razgovora u pisanim i elektronskim medijima.(Bibliografija)

 

Mladen Marinkov

Lives and works in Novi Sad as Professor of Sculpture and Technology at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts. During his several decades long artistic work he has proved to be a mature and bold modern sculptor, creating forms of postmodernist spirit and in accordance with the times he lives in. He has enriched with imaginary and probable forms the modern sculpture, not only at the local level, but also on the wider Serbian arts scene.

Marinkov was born in 1947 in Novi Sad. He graduated from the Belgrade Academy of Fine Arts, Sculpture Department, in 1973. Completed postgraduate studies at the Belgrade Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Jovan Kratohvil’s Class. He took his M.A. degree in 1974. In the same year, he became a member of the Association of Artists of Fine Arts of Serbia in Belgrade. He is also a member of the Association of Artists of Fine Arts of Vojvodina.

As of 1979 he was organizational secretary in the Federation of Associations of Artists of Fine Arts of Vojvodina. In the period 2003-2004 he was Director of the prominent Provincial cultural institution – Fine Art Gallery – Rajko Mamuzić’s Gift Collection. Full Time Professor at the Art Academy Novi Sad, Department of sculptur. 

Retired.

He visited for personal development purposes numerous European countries and made study trips, in order to acquaint himself with cultural heritage and contemporary artistic creations, to Italy, Great Britain, Spain, France, Germany, Hungary. He stayed in Athens as winner of „Moše Pijade“ scholarship.

Marinkov believed from the very beginning that each artist has a moral and human obligation to do something for his hometown, since this commitment leaves visible traces which outlive their creator. He remained faithful to the idea, and it is sufficient to see his Fountain of Wishes and Gate of Wishes on the Newly-Weds Square in Novi Sad to prove this. They have already become recognizable symbols and artistic features of the city. Although Marinkov, as a sculptor, boldly enters the interspaces of different media as modern expressions, he does not hesitate to return to more peaceful flows of classic sculpture, which he has proven on the mentioned sculpture works.

In the last three decades he made a whole series of different cycles, both in thematic sense and in the sense of sculpture access in materials processing technology; these works were at first frequently presented at one-man and group exhibitions under the title Sculptures or Sculptural Forms. Later on, during the nineties, the most important cycles were created, repeated and upgraded – Still Life, Trees, Chaikas (wooden boats), Torsos, Forms – processed in the bronze technique represent, in a certain way, cross section of his artistic opus up till now.

In the middle of the nineties, Marinkov presented an exceptionally imaginative and artistically significant vision of prehistoric Arkanj Civilization, whose archaeological traces had been found at the locality in the immediate vicinity of Novi Sad. Here, the author visualized his picture of old civilizations, striving at the same time to preserve integrity and recognizability of the modern art, i.e. sculpture values.

Маринков је 2008. имао најпрестижнију модерну изложбу скулптура под називом Савијање, чији је садржај у корелативној корелацији са његовим Цхаикасима, сугерирајући неколико слојних симболика с могућношћу мултифункционалног тумачења и препознавања. Све у свему, Маринков у стваралачки процес третирања облика и простора уноси у материјал енергију свог емоционалног и интелектуалног набоја, као основне елементе у изради кипарског дела.

Недавно је део своје уметничке активности, паралелно са скулптуром, усмерио ка уметничкој фотографији и видео пројектима. Бави се 3Д моделирањем простора. Маринкова активност и континуирани рад у културном и ликовном животу домаће и међународне уметничке сцене видљиви су и у бројним чланцима, презентацијама, прегледима и интервјуима у штампаним и електронским медијима.

Током свог вишедеценијског уметничког рада Младен Маринков је добио 23 престижне награде у земљи и иностранству. Најуспешније је представљао своју земљу на неколико главних изложби ликовних уметности и међународним бијеналима, попут Венецијанског бијенала и Песта изложбе скулптура малих форми. Створио је неколико значајних споменика на отвореном, као и бројне попрсје познатих људи из различитих области живота. Његове скулптуре се налазе у скоро свим значајним европским и културним уметничким центрима.
